okay…
so i’ve been on a night schedule for a week and a half i think. my body is pretty confused, though i have no problems sleeping during the daylight hours. i feel a bit tired every couple of hours and by whole body is just slightly ‘off’ still.
danny finally has his “weekend” tonight and tomorrow night. we had our first meal of the day at denny’s (since it was open and we had no food at home). then we went grocery shopping at a 24/7 harris teeter store. i’d never been to one before but they had a good selection. there were self-checkout lanes and maybe 5 other shoppers, so we didn’t have to deal with many people. there was just one cashier that monitored the self-check lanes. we are going back out in the morning before bed because we need to go to a petstore for crickets. we also are going to look into getting new sheets. danny has eczema and our older sheets are really making it angry.
random observations about being an official night owl:
- there is no traffic at all when you go out for ‘mid day’ errands. in fact, lights magically turn green when you get to them, and a lot of them are turned off all together.
- toast tastes especially good between 4am-7am
- the online world can get quite lonely while i am working starting at 2am. i need more european friends!
- i still get to chat with the business-hour crowd – just before i got to sleep now.
- i need to figure out the best time to vacume/bath the dogs/do noisey chores so i don’t piss off the neighbors.
- it still startles me to be doing my ‘morning’ net browsing and email answering and to suddenly have the sun go down
- there are not enough 24/7 stores around here. so far we know of several grocery stores and one cvs. is there a wal*mart or k-mart that is open?
- i have to remember to take the garbage out around ‘lunchtime’ or i’ll miss the truck.
- i get lost 100x more often while driving in the dark, but i am not stressed when it happens because no one else is around to make driving difficult.
so, at the moment, amazon.com has both my gift certificate AND $40 from my debit card. bastards! give me my money back!
o am anxious for danny’s birthday gift to arrive safely from californina. the last scan from ups was 2am on the 29th. i guess it’s just been heading this way ever since. his birthday is wednesday. (if you want to send him a gift, i’m sure he’d appreciate star$$ cards and dinner gift certs…) he’llbe going in to work that night as usual.
so, no one had any suggestions/requests for photo shoots or cam shows? anyone? bueller?
i am itchy all over right now. *scratch scratch* especially my head, back, and arms. damn allergies.
