I’m sick.

I feel like it is karma biting me in the ass, because for the past year, since I’ve been good at taking my vitamins and eating my protein bars, I’ve often said that I hardly ever get sick anymore.

Realistically, I caught this bad cold on Monday from 2 sick coworkers. I had to help out at the front reception desk of the doggy daycare which meant sharing the phone with two germy people. My sore throat appeared that evening. The sore throat continued to get worst as the week went on.

Yesterday I stayed home from work in hopes of getting enough rest to shorten the length of it. But, no luck. Overnight, the plague finally made it past that point where the dam breaks and it becomes a full-blown cold.

I stayed home again today, because I don’t want to get anyone sick. especially my about-to-go-into-labor-at-any-moment pregnant officemate. Unfortunately, that means missing an important management meeting at our Maryland location. I offered to drive up for it, which they appreciated, but they prefer I keep my germs to myself. So I am now out of bed and eating a nice, squishy lunch of Easy Mac with the phone beside me in case they decide to conference call with me. Luckily, the Easy Mac seems to have broken through the barrier and I’ve regained my voice.

So yeah, my sick-less streak is over (not counting allergies of course). At least I didn’t catch the cold for my birthday next month. That would suck.
