28 Weeks!

There’s a little human moving around in there!!!

This week we had a free 4D ultrasound (as a thank you for choosing the place we did for our big anatomy scan at 20 weeks). It was pretty freaking amazing to see baby moving around in there. He was chilling out mostly, but he was all about opening and closing his little hand. At one point, his big foot comes up by his head. Better there than on my bladder! He is currently breech, with his head on my left, back arching over the top of my uterus, butt on the right and feet stomping all over my bladder. You better turn over soon boy!

Time is finally moving fast! 28 weeks… 7 months. Wow! I am finally visibly pregnant. I seem to have relapsed into feeling queasy and tired all the time. But besides that and a pulled muscle in my lower back, I feel good.

My baby shower is just over 2 weeks away. Yikes! For those looking for our registries, we only did them at Amazon.com and Target. My next doctor’s appointment is in early December at 30 weeks, then I start my every-2-weeks appointments. Time will go even faster at that point!

Vlog 002 :: I Think We’re Alone Now

If you thought I was a dork after the last video… Yeah. Heh. Any video requests (of a non-sexual type)?

Today was a work from home day. I needed it. Yesterday was super crazy in d0ggy daycare land, and I had a lot to get done today.

Benny woke me up right after I got to sleep last night at 1 am. He was crying and whining like he does when he has to go have diarrhea. The little bastard just wanted to run around outside. We came back in then he proceeded to make as much noise as possible for about an hour before finally giving us some peace. He is definitely in his “teenage years”. He’ll be 10 months old mid-month. On the 13th, China will turn 7. Our sweet bratty old lady.

Benny napped all morning sue to his late night, but by evening he was driving us all crazy with how hyper he was. He isn’t allowed in the backyard right now since it was just seeded, so I took him for a run. It was my longest so far (not far at all, but great for me). I’m getting better at breathing, but I think it is just something you need to condition your lungs for. The temperature is heading back up into the 90′s though, so it will be too hot again. Are we ever going to have autumn?? I bet we’ll skip right to winter… As usual.

I think I’m going to finish my coffee and go watch tv in bed! So there!

Don’t forget that tomorrow is the Washington Humane Society’s Walk for the Animals (see my previous post). Even if you don’t do the walk, there will be a lot of fun activities, and the temperature will be great. I hope to see you there!

Doggy Dive

This evening was our neighborhood’s annual Doggy Dive at the pool. Even though Benny is the one who hates water, we brought him with us. (China would have been Mrs. Crankypants.)

Benny hadn’t even seen the pool – just smelled it – and had already put on the breaks. Inside the pool area we let him off leash and he alternated meeting new dogs (many of whom tried to hump him) and cowering away from the pool. I got him to wade in for a few seconds, but he kept leaping out.

After a while, we tried the “help”-him-into-the-pool method that other people were trying with great success. Yeah, it didn’t really work for us. As you can see, he swam to the nearest wall (which, unfortunately didn’t have the bench along it that the other dogs were using to get out) and tried to get out. We kept calling to him to come over to where that step was, but he was in freak-out mode, and I sent Danny over to help him. Poor Boo bloodied his back nails on the pool wall. They were down to the quicks to begin with – he shuffles his back feet when he walks.

We called it a day after that. I got him home, used styptic on his nails, and washed the chlorine off of him. I hope that he at least had fun meeting all the other dogs and chasing them around the pool. I know I had fun. They should always let doggies in the pool. Except that someone dropped a deuce by one of the tables.

I have a migraine. Suck. I’d love a bubble bath, but I’d ahve to clean the tub first – there is weird black powdery stuff in it that smears like charcoal dust. Hrm.

New Fence!

After a long process of getting signatures and HOA approval, we have a new fenced in backyard (and side yard)!! I left for work yesterday when two workers were putting in the first posts, and I returned to a finished fence! (I did work a long day…) The fence will be painted white, as the HOA requires, once it has cured. I will like it even more when it is white, though it is a whole lot of fence to paint!

The dogs LOVE the backyard! They are enjoying hanging out back there without leashes on. We will have to barbecue this weekend! Benny is a big wuss and is upset that Danny is outside making noises with his hammer and power-washer (for the porches).

I thought I’d have a nice day of working from home, since I worked doggy daycare Mon, Tuesday, (off Weds), and Thurs. But, no. I just got called in for the pm shift again. At least it is Friday.

Benny the Star

Benny has his very own lipsync music video! Though his co-star, China, does steal the show at the end. I’ve been wanting to do this for ages, and finally took the time to finish it. I know I have other things to get done, but sometime you just need a little silliness in life! I am adding the video to YouTube, too, but it doesn’t seem to be up yet (I started it before I headed to bed).

Finally!

Better weather, finally! And, the pool guy is here vacuuming the sand out of the pool!

Super quick update: Laura arrived late Tuesday night. We had pancakes Wednesday morning at Stack Em High. We drove out and climbed to the top of the Hatteras lighthouse. We took the dogs to the beach and collected shells. I got the dogs to go in the pool to get the sand off (since the pool already had an inch of sand at the bottom). Danny and Laura feasted on scary sea life with legs and eyes and drank margaritas. I headed to bed before them. Puppy woke me up at the same time he has all week – 7:50 am. Puppy will not go out on the deck because he sees the pool guy and is afraid he’ll end up in the pool again. Apparently, though he can swim, he does. not. like. it. at. all.
